Biba Reviews: HONOR Magic9 Pro Max — 235g Wrist Strain, Severe Thermal Throttling

AI summary

Machine translated · Original language: Chinese (Taiwan) · Source language: Chinese (Taiwan)

Source

Key Takeaways

  • Weighing a massive 235g with a top-heavy camera mass, one-handed use causes immediate wrist and pinky fatigue.
  • In 3DMark continuous stress testing, stability tanked to 58.4%; the GPU throttles severely to curb escalating temperatures.
  • The 200MP periscope zoom falls apart past 15x; AI-generated super-resolution inserts artificial, fake-looking edge artifacts.
  • Priced above $1,200, its resale depreciation is steep, while out-of-warranty screen and module repairs are painfully high.

✅ Pros

  • Stunning daylight mid-range telephoto clarity
  • Giant battery capacity provides phenomenal standby
  • Reliable satellite connectivity for remote emergencies

❌ Cons

  • Exhaustingly heavy, brick-like body
  • Thermal throttling under sustained workloads
  • Artificial, over-processed extreme zoom artifacts
  • Steep launch price coupled with poor resale value

📝 Verdict

"Magic9 Pro Max packs every spec possible, but unchecked weight and severe throttling make it an ergonomic and gaming failure."

「Magic9 Pro Max
