Key Takeaways

• The magnetic rear S-Pen channel still lacks sufficient grip; sliding the tablet into packed backpacks knocks the pen loose into the abyss.
• Official keyboard cover adds substantial bulk; combined carry weight exceeds 1.1kg, eroding its lightweight tablet advantage.
• Still chained to 45W charging for its 10,000mAh pack with no charger bundled in the box, requiring ~75 minutes to reach full.
• Samsung DeX mode occasionally stumbles on external monitors with fuzzy DPI scaling and erratic mouse wheel scrolling.

✅ Pros

• Sweet-spot 12.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X delivers pristine visuals without serving-tray bulk
• Robust IP68 water and dust ingress resistance for bath relaxation
• Ships with low-latency S-Pen included in the box at no extra cost

❌ Cons

• Rear magnetic S-Pen falls off inside commuter bags
• Total weight exceeds 1.1kg with official keyboard cover
• Sluggish 75-minute charge time on 10,000mAh pack
• Occasional DPI scaling glitches in external DeX mode

📝 Verdict

"Tab S12+ is the most balanced Android flagship tablet, slightly burdened by dropped S-Pens, heavy keyboards, and slow 45W charging."

• Channel: Android Digest | Type: Professional review | Based on: YouTube transcript

Key points

• He thinks the Tab S12+ is overshadowed by the Ultra, but its size is just right for most people: the keyboard is roomier than the Tab S11's, and it's more portable than the 14.6-inch Ultra
• It costs about US$1,200, with the Pro keyboard sold separately; it has an SD card slot and IP68
• The screen reaches up to 1,600 nits, brighter than the Tab S10+, with excellent AMOLED color; unfortunately there's no anti-glare coating
• It uses the MediaTek Dimensity 9500; if you care about emulators or GameNative, older Snapdragon models still have the edge
• 10,600mAh battery, about 7–8 hours of screen-on time; 45W charging isn't fast; the Pro keyboard attaches to the back but doesn't protect the cameras

✅ Pros

• Just-right size
• IP68 and SD card slot
• Bright, beautiful screen
• Consistent battery life

❌ Cons

• Pricey at about US$1,200
• No anti-glare coating
• Slow-ish 45W charging
• Pro keyboard sold separately

📝 Verdict

Great, but only for the right person: choose it if you want a portable big-screen Android tablet you can also work on; if the keyboard is too expensive, use a Bluetooth keyboard instead.

• Channel: Josh Quiñonez | Type: User impressions | Based on: YouTube transcript

Key points

• His previous Samsung tablet was the Tab S8 Ultra; editing video, editing photos, gaming and watching videos on the S12+ are all smooth
• The 12.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X, 120Hz screen has vivid colors and a sharp image, and he thinks the Plus size is the sweet spot
• The 5.3mm body is light, so holding it for long periods isn't tiring
• The S Pen is included in the box and attaches magnetically, which helps him a lot as someone who creates on mobile devices; with a keyboard it becomes a laptop
• Dimensity 9500, 12GB RAM, 256/512GB plus expansion up to 2TB; with the 10,600mAh battery he can go several days before charging

✅ Pros

• Beautiful screen
• Thin and light
• S Pen included
• Good battery life
• Expandable storage

❌ Cons

• Keyboard sold separately

📝 Verdict

After a week the experience has been excellent, and the included S Pen is a bonus; he will follow up with a more in-depth review.

• Channel: The Tech Shed | Type: Professional review | Based on: YouTube transcript

Key points

• He used it for a few weeks; there's no standard model this year, so the S12+ is the cheapest entry model in the lineup, expected at US$1,100–1,400
• At 5.3mm thick and 553g, it's thinner and lighter than the Tab S10+; IP68; the S Pen is included in the box, though the magnetic hold could be stronger
• The 12.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X, 2800×1752, 120Hz screen has beautiful HDR, but it isn't an upgrade over the previous generation
• Dimensity 9500 + 12GB RAM: performance is its biggest strength, excelling under sustained heavy loads; the four speakers deliver very good spatial audio
• 10,600mAh, 45W, officially 21 hours; in practice at least a full day, even two

✅ Pros

• Beautiful screen
• Thin and light
• Strong performance
• Good speakers
• S Pen included

❌ Cons

• High entry price
• Lack of innovation
• No screen upgrade over the previous generation

📝 Verdict

Easy to recommend as an upgrade from the S10+ or older; if you already have an S11 or S11 Ultra, save your money.
